Dental Technology & Comforts - Brick, NJ

Superior Quality for Excellent Dental Care

In order to provide truly first-class dentistry, you need to have the right tools, which is why we regularly update our dental office to use the most advanced dental technology available today. With it, we are able to consistently provide dental care that is fast, precise, and comfortable for all of our patients, no matter what kind of procedure they need. Read on below to learn a little bit more about some of the fantastic dental technology and comforts in Brick that we use every day here at Drum Point Family & Implant Dentistry.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Do you or your child feel a bit anxious about going to the dentist? If so, we can help calm any dental nerves using nitrous oxide sedation. For this, all a patient has to do is breathe in the colorless, odorless gas through a small nasal mask to achieve a feeling of floaty happiness in the chair. The mask will stay on for the entire appointment, and when it is removed, a patient is able to go straight back to their day without any lasting drowsiness.

Intraoral Camera

An intraoral camera will help you literally gain a whole new perspective on your dental health. This small, pen-sized camera can be comfortably maneuvered through the mouth to capture highly-detailed images of the teeth and gums we can instantly show you on a chairside monitor. These will make it easier for our team to spot small issues, plus they will allow us to actually show you what we are talking about as opposed to just telling you.

Digital Dental X-Rays

X-rays have been an essential diagnostic tool in dentistry for decades, and thanks to digital dental X-rays, they are now better than ever. With them, we can create crystal-clear images of your teeth and gums below the surface in a matter of seconds, and even better, they also expose our patients (and our team) to 90% LESS radiation compared to traditional dental X-rays. And, because everything is digitized, the images can be easily sent, stored, and displayed on a monitor for you to go over with your dentist.

CT 3D Cone Beam Scanner

3 D C T cone beam dental scanner

In certain situations, we need a little more information about your smile than what a regular X-ray can tell us, which is when we like to use our CT 3D cone beam scanner. This device can create a fully three-dimensional X-ray image of your teeth, jaw, and other surrounding structures. In addition to just being really cool to look at, this kind of image also gives us the ability to better understand your overall dental anatomy, find hidden infections, and plan more complicated procedures like dental implant placement.

Soft Tissue Laser

Soft tissue dental laser system

Our soft tissue laser allows us to perform even the most sensitive periodontal (gum) procedures with relative ease. For gum disease, its extremely focused beam of light can vaporize harmful bacteria without affecting the surrounding healthy gums, and it can even painlessly remove infected tissue. Cosmetically, it gives us the ability to perform quick, precise, and comfortable gum lifts to give patients perfectly balanced smiles. All in all, it is one of the most patient-friendly tools we use every day.
