Dental Checkups & Teeth Cleanings

Every beautiful smile starts with a dental checkup and teeth cleaning because they allow us to learn about your dental health as well as protect it at the same time. With a teeth cleaning, one of our dental hygienists will use specialized tools to remove plaque and tartar from your teeth in order to prevent cavities and gum disease from developing. Then, our dentists will perform an exam where they will look at your teeth, gums, jaw, and dental work to make sure everything is in good shape. Should they spot a problem, this will allow them to quickly intervene.

Children’s Dentistry

We just love serving Brick’s littlest and most precious smiles! Our entire team has years of experience meeting the unique dental needs of children, so with us, your child will experience just the right combination of treatments, patience, and a gentle touch so their smile can have a strong start. We will protect their teeth from cavities, make sure they are developing correctly, and ensure they have comfortable visits every time you come to see us.

Dental Sealants

A dental sealant is a thin, clear layer of a plastic-based substance that we can apply to the teeth to protect them from the plaque and food particles that can lead to cavities. We most often apply them to the back teeth as these are the hardest to clean while brushing, especially for children. They only take minutes to apply, and they can provide years of cavity protection with the proper maintenance (which just consists of regular brushing and flossing).

Nightguards for Bruxism

Bruxism is a very common condition where a person unconsciously clenches their jaw and grinds their teeth while they sleep. Over time, this can severely wear down the teeth and even cause them to break! If we suspect that you may be experiencing bruxism, we can recommend that you wear something called a nightguard to bed. It will place a comfortable and protective barrier between your teeth to prevent them from grinding together during the night.

Mouthguards & Sportsguards

If you or your child routinely participate in sports, you should definitely make sure that everyone’s teeth are protected with a mouthguard before hitting the field, mat, or court. Dental injuries account for about 40% of all sports injuries! We can custom-make a mouthguard for you that will be much more comfortable and stronger than anything you can buy at the store. It will be specially designed to fit your smile so you will be able to breathe unimpeded and keep your mind on the game while staying safe.

Oral Cancer Screenings

Oral cancer is an often fatal disease that is actually very treatable when detected early, which is exactly why our dentists recommend that all adults should have at least one oral cancer screening per year. They can perform one as part of your regular dental checkups to make things nice and easy. During it, they will examine your lips, gums, tongue, throat, neck, and face for any signs of precancerous or cancerous tissues, and should they discover something, they can help you take quick and appropriate action.

Fluoride Treatments

Fluoride is a mineral that is very well known for its ability to strengthen the teeth against both decay and cavities, which is why you will so often find it in toothpaste as well as public water sources. To give you and your family a little bit of extra protection between appointments, we can provide a topical fluoride treatment as part of your standard dental checkups. It only takes a few minutes, is completely painless, and will help keep you cavity-free year after year!
